Embark on an early morning departure from Freetown to Tiwai Island, crossing through the picturesque countryside. Enjoy a stop for lunch in Bo, to refuel your energy for the adventures ahead. Arrive at Kambama Village in the early afternoon and get ready for the boat transfer to Tiwai Island. Once settled in, take a thrilling boat trip up the Mao River, surrounded by lush palm-fringed scenery. Keep your eyes peeled for glimpses of wildlife along the riverbanks. Return to the camp as the day winds down, where a delicious dinner awaits, prepared by camp staff. Share your experience of your day’s adventure and revel in the natural beauty of Tiwai Island under the open sky.
Begin your day with a guided morning walk in the forest alongside a local guide. Experience the beauty of nature, observe monkeys swinging through the trees, and spot various birds and wildlife in their natural habitat. Return to camp for lunch. Afterward, seize the opportunity to explore nearby villages like Kambama and Nianiahun. Immerse yourself in the local culture and heritage, gaining insight into the traditional way of life. In the evening, partake in a night walk to discover the forest after dark, offering a unique and exciting experience. Round off your day with another delicious dinner served by the camp staff.
You have the morning free to plan as you wish – whether you choose to relax, unwind or take a leisurely walk. After breakfast, we will depart the island around 10:30 AM and begin our journey back to Freetown. Lunch will be served on the way, allowing you to rest and enjoy the scenic drive home.
